Empowering Jatigede Village through Digital Marketing and UMKM Product Development

Sumedang, West Java – 2024/2025 – A team of lecturers from the Communication Management Study Program, Faculty of Communication Sciences (Fikom), Universitas Padjadjaran, has launched a community service initiative to strengthen the economic potential of Jatigede District, Sumedang Regency, through digital marketing integration and product development for local micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM).

The program, titled “Production of Interactive Guide Videos and Directory Books on Tourism and Economic Potentials (UMKM) in Jatigede District”, aims to help local entrepreneurs enhance their competitiveness in the creative industry. The initiative will produce four interactive training videos; covering product marketing, basic financial management, eco-friendly packaging innovation, and business licensing, and two directory books on UMKM products and cultural/natural tourism.

Through capacity-building, practical resources, and collaborative content production, this program supports SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting sustainable local tourism and economic empowerment.
