The International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), has announced the winners of the 2025 FAO/IAMCR Rural Communication Services Awards.
This award recognizes research that contributes to expanding knowledge on rural communication in the context of agriculture, food security, natural resource management, climate change, and disaster risk reduction.
Dr. phil. Subekti Priyadharma, faculty member of the Communication Management Program and Head of the Center for Communication, Media, Culture, and Information Systems (CMCI) at the Faculty of Communication Science, Universitas Padjadjaran, together with a research team coordinated by ICT Watch, was selected as one of the three recipients of this award. Their winning paper is titled:
“Developing a National Strategy for Enabling, Shaping, and Seeding Meaningful Community-Centered Connectivity in Rural Indonesia.”
This publication is part of the Tri Dharma (Three Pillars) of the Communication Management Program and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to “Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation”—which includes the development of infrastructure that supports sustainable development, fosters inclusive industry, and encourages technological innovation. #SDGs
